Bob Prahl

Bob Prahl is the sole shareholder/President of Robert A. Prahl, APC. A third generation Californian, Bob was raised in Encinitas and received his B.A. from San Diego State University. He has always enjoyed athletics and while in college he learned to play rugby which he continued to play competitively for 10 years. He attended University of California Hastings School of Law in San Francisco, where he wrote on the law journal and graduated Order of the Coif.

Upon graduating law school, Bob joined the law firm Frye, Schmeltzer, and Reynolds doing business and personal injury litigation. He then joined Marinos, Augustine, and Delafield in 1969 to 1972 working with transactional real estate and corporate securities. Soon after he partnered with Robert P. Lowell, a former partner with Marinos, Augustine, and Delafield. In January 1973, they were joined by Jerry B. Hicks and Wiley Jones to form the law firm of Lowell, Hicks, Prahl & Jones - the beginnings of Hicks & Prahl, APC. In 1991, R. Michael McBride joined the firm which was renamed Prahl & McBride, APC until Mike McBride’s retirement in December 2013. During this time, Bob expanded his practice into estate planning including wills and trusts as well as continuing in transactional real estate, corporate, and business law. These efforts were complementary to Jerry Hicks’ and then Mike McBride’s tax and estate planning practices.
